Sustainable shipping and packaging

We add a reusable cooler pack with our shipments so that the chocolate is protected from the heat, and the packing peanuts provide insulation! The packing peanuts we use are made of starch, so that they will biodegrade as soon as they are exposed to water. Put one in your hand and run water on it. It will disappear!

Our chocolate bar packaging is compostable and recyclable, as are our lollipop packages. While most commercial recyclers do not accept compostable plastic (PLA), I feel much better knowing that, even in a landfill, our packaging will biodegrade in months, instead of decades or longer. We will be moving all of our packaging in this direction over the next few years. It does take time but as manufacturers find that the demand is there for more ecologically sensitive products, the development will follow.
